Install Java 7 Runtime on Ubuntu 12.04

This is more notes to self on how to install Java 7 Runtime on Ubuntu 12.04

From the command line the process is:

Open a Terminal use short cut Ctrl + Alt + t and you can copy and past these lines into your terminal window

First remove Java 7 Runtime if you’ve forgotten about these notes and tried something else..

sudo apt-get purge openjdk*


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer

That’s it. From here you can type

java -version

at the command prompt you’ve already have open revealing the version of Java installed and confirming that its working.

A working Java Runtime is required when listening to the online SDR receivers
