Not the sort of thing many of us do, but as is often the case, the real value of things is in the journey to the destination, not the destination itself. Thomas’s journey reveals the interconnected world we live in, and that he finds himself going back to the earliest days in technology where the technology was at the level where one man could understand it. I guess that parallels 8 bit computer systems and the creation of the Raspberry Pi single board computer.
This is a story of what we so clearly take for granted every day and it leaves me asking the question ‘who are we kidding that the retail price of a toaster is £3.94?’
Never mind the world is awash with cheap money.
Just think of all the energy that’s been consumed to produce the final product. That’s what all that energy sells for at the point of sale – just £3.94. And we say ‘Thank you Argos’.
